Mega Sena Game Overview
Mega Sena game utilizes 2 cages with one containing balls with numbers 0-5 and the other one with numbers 0-9. A player can choose any number from 01-60. If two zeros (00) are drawn, that will represent the number 60. The first digit will come from the first cage with 0-5 and the second will come from the one with numbers 0-9.
The process will be repeated for six times to come up with the Mega Sena winning number combination. A player will be entitled for the jackpot if he could match all the six winning numbers.
Mega Sena operators want the winners to take home bigger cash prizes so they are only giving away three levels of prizes. A player will can claim for a level prize if he has guessed 4 or 5 numbers correctly. The winner will be given a 90-day period to claim the prize which is in the form of a lump sum.

Only 46% of the total sales and revenues of Mega Sena lottery is allotted for the cash prizes. 35% of this makes up the jackpot prize, 20% will go to second level winners, another 20% is for the third level winners, and the last 25% will be used for the special draws that are being held five times annually.
Mega Sena lottery has recorded the highest amount of lottery jackpot prize won in 1999 when someone from Salvador has won the R$64.9 million. It has given away R$52.8 million in 2007 and R$53.1 million in July 2008. This huge amount of jackpot prize was divided among two winning ticket holders.
